Oman Flag Pictures, Meaning

The Oman national flag has one vertical stripe and three horizontal stripes. The vertical stripe is red with an emblem in the top left corner. The horizontal stripes from top to bottom are white, red and green. The symbol in the vertical stripe is white and has two crossed swords, a Khanjar (dagger) and a belt. It is the national symbol of Oman. The red of the flag represents the Al Bu Said dynasty which has been ruling Oman since the mid 18th century. The white represents peace, prosperity and the Imam who are the Islamic leaders of the country. The green stripe represents the fertility of the land, the Al Jabal al Akhdar, Green Mountains and is also the color of Islam.

The flag of Oman was adopted on November 18, 1995.
