Haiti Flag
The Haitian national flag has two horizontal stripes of equal width. The top stripe is blue and the bottom stripe is red. In the direct center of the flag is the Haiti Coat of Arms. The coat of arms has a Palmette surrounded by the liberty cap. Under the palms is the inscription 'L'Union Fait la Force' on a trophy. That phrase translates to 'in union there is strength'. The flag of Haiti is derived from the French flag. The colors of the flag represent the union of the mulatto and black Haitans. The flag of Haiti was officially adopted on February 26, 1986. The national flag of Honduras has three horizontal stripes of equal width. The top and bottom stripe are blue and the middle stripe is white. Within the middle stripe are five, five-pointed blue stars. One star is in the center with two stars on both the right and left in an x pattern. The blue stripes of the Honduran flag symbolize the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. The stars on the center stripe represent the five nations that make up the United States of Central America and the hope that one day they may unite. The white stripe is for fidelity and faithfulness and the green stripe symbolizes hope. The Hungarian flag was based on the French Tricolore. The Hungarian crown appeared on the flag until 1945. The Hungarian flag was officially adopted on October 1, 1957.
